AI content farm (fake newsroom)

In its commercial form, a content farm chases advertising revenue with cheap, high-volume "AI slop." In its weaponised form, the same machinery is used for influence operations: state-aligned networks have stood up hundreds of fake local-news sites in a single year to launder propaganda into the information stream. Because the marginal cost of a new fake outlet approaches zero, the economics favour the attacker — each site is cheap to create and expensive to debunk.

A recurring tell is the residue of automation: leftover chatbot phrasing or generic, templated structure beneath a thin veneer of journalism.
